Awyr Las celebrate 75 years of the NHS at Penrhyn Quarry!

Zip World worked closely with the charity to plan a fundraising event like no other, with over 250 staff and volunteers of the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board coming together to face their fears, while raising vital funds towards the inspiring work of Awyr las.

The event was held in the evening, meaning the staff and volunteers attending the event had exclusive access to Velocity from 5:30 until late. Not only that, but homemade pizzas were available for all riders at our Blondin Restaurant, as well as entertainment throughout the night and drinks flowing from the bar.

A special thanks goes to Cor Law yn Llaw, Zoe McDonald, Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd and Mandy Jones for their support on the evening by providing fantastic music, live coverage, and speeches.

Those not riding Velocity were never too far from the action, with epic viewing platforms meaning attendees could watch their friends and family zoom over their heads at speeds of up to 100mph.  

Over £30,000 was raised altogether, which would all go to help raise funds for priority projects, additional equipment, and services to help transform and improve patient care and treatment across the region.
