Leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and hop aboard the Fforest Coaster for a magical ride through stunning Welsh woodland. This iconic adventure located in North Wales will see you weaving and speeding through the trees along a kilometre of track, either independently or with a friend.
Who’s it for?
Before booking this adventure, please carefully review the following restrictions to ensure you and your party meet the minimum participation requirements.
Supervision for under 18’s
Children aged 3–8 yrs must be accompanied on the same sledge by 1 participating adult (or child aged 9+ and over 1m) for every child
Children aged 9 - 17 years must be accompanied by a spectating adult in a ratio of 1 adult to 5 children
Max Weight
Participants must be below 150kg (seat belt permitting) to take part in this adventure
Max Weight (Combined)
Participants combined weight must be below 150kg to share a sledge
Min Height (Driver)
A minimum height of 1m is required for the driver of the adventure

What to expect from your experience
So what’s involved in the experience? Here we’ll talk you through each step of the process for ultimate peace-of-mind, and you’ll see just how accessible this adventure really is!
Check-in
The first step of any Zip World adventure; arrive half an hour before your adventure start-time to check-in at reception and settle in.
Hob aboard
Once checked-in, you’ll take a very short walk over to the Fforest Coaster boarding station. From here you’ll be able to see a small amount of the track and will receive a safety briefing from a member of our team. When you’ve reached the front of the line, you’ll show the team member your wristband and hope aboard your sledge, either alone or as a pair.
The ascent
You’ll then enjoy a scenic ascent through the woodland, along over 300m of track. At this point, you’ll just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery, for around 4 minutes whilst the sledge does all the work and automatically takes you slowly through the forest. This is surprisingly quiet and peaceful, so enjoy a few moments of bliss!
The ride down
Once you’ve reached the very top of the track, now comes the fun! You’ll take control of your sledge using the two levers; these levers are used to move you forward and control your speed! You will zoom, whizz, weave and dart all the way back down along over 700m of track, reaching ground-rush speeds of up to 25mph!
Go again and again!
With each Fforest Coaster ticket, you get 3 rides, so you can truly push yourself and build your confidence whilst building more speed with each run! You may also opt for one of your runs to be filmed using our cameras; this can be pre-booked or paid for on the day.
Dismount
Once you’ve completed your 3 runs, you’re conveniently located right next to the Fforest Coffi bar, as well as our stunning woodland Tipi Bar, so why not pop in for a bite to eat and re-fuel after your adventure
FAQs
When should I arrive?
You will need to arrive on site ready to check in for your experience 30 minutes prior to your adventure start time.
What should I wear?
You will need to wear warm comfortable clothing suitable to the weather on the day, with walking boots or trainers. Some of our experiences require your arms and legs to be covered, please check individual adventure restrictions to see if this applies to you.
Can I protect my booking if I need to make any last-minute changes?
Yes, you can purchase ticket protection insurance at check-out which will allow you the flexibility to make a last-minute change or cancellation.
Can I book over the phone?
It is quicker to book online, but you’re welcome to call us if you’d prefer; please do so on 01248 601 444. Please note there may be a wait time on the phone, particularly during busy periods.
When are you open?
We are open all year round except Christmas day and Boxing Day. During off-peak seasons, please visit our checkout to see our booking calendar and our opening days. Each site has different opening times and days so please check our website.

Do I need to book in advance or can I just turn up?
We’d always recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. If you turn up without a booking, we will do our best to fit you in, but cannot guarantee this. Please be sure to book in advance if you’re travelling a distance to visit us.
