The history of ArcelorMittal Orbit

Designed by sculptor Sir Anish Kapoor and engineer Cecil Balmond, it originally opened in 2012 alongside the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, and is made of 35,000 bolts and enough steel to make 265 double-decker busses. This iconic structure is a byword for innovative and playful design and is a highly-regarded destination in its own right.
