“The variety of challenges to navigate are great!”
So what’s involved in the experience? Here we’ll talk you through each step of the process for ultimate peace-of-mind, and you’ll see just how accessible this adventure really is!
The first step of any Zip World adventure; arrive half an hour before your adventure start-time to check-in at reception and settle in.
Once checked-in, you’ll be pointed in the direction of the kit-up area, where you and the rest of your group will grab a helmet, gloves and be fitted into your harness. This is entirely instructor led.
This is where the real fun begins! Follow the instructor along the caverns and tunnels to the training area. This doesn’t involve any steps or declines – this particular underground cavern is actually parallel to ground-level, so is extremely easy to reach on foot!
Before you’re let loose on the main Caverns course, you’ll need to know exactly how to navigate the course with your safety equipment. This equipment is extremely safe and simple to use, and the training are will be entirely instructor-led to ensure you’ve got the knowledge needed to embark on your adventure!
Now that you’ve practiced using your equipment, you’ll be led over to the beginning of the main course to embark on this part of the journey independently. Don’t worry though, our instructors can see you at all times on cameras, so can come and help if you need a hand. Think high ropes but underground; on this journey through the caverns you’ll encounter obstacles and zip lines surrounded by an incredible, historical atmosphere.
Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll head back above-ground, where you will take your harness, helmet and gloves off. Now’s time to grab a bite to eat at the cosy Llechwedd Caffi, or embark on the next adventure!
You will need to arrive on site ready to check in for your experience 30 minutes prior to your adventure start time.
You will need to wear warm comfortable clothing suitable to the weather on the day, with walking boots or trainers. Some of our experiences require your arms and legs to be covered, please check individual adventure restrictions to see if this applies to you.
Yes, you can purchase ticket protection insurance at check-out which will allow you the flexibility to make a last-minute change or cancellation.
