This event runs from 30th November to 24th December, and you can expect it to take you around 1 hour to complete.
There is no age restriction to Tower Grotto. We politely request that every child who meets Santa has a ticket.
Parking is included in your Tower Grotto experience! Just drive in, park up, and dive straight into the Christmas grotto experience. No need for extra holiday cheer in your parking plans – we’ve got that covered for you!
Experience Christmas joy in this classic, traditional grotto, where Santa and his team of elves await.
Begin your journey with a delicious mince pie and hot chocolate/ mulled wine, before heading over to the grotto, which is located on the Cegin Glo restaurant mezzanine with brilliant views of the Zip World Tower adventure unfolding outside. Meet the man himself and receive a special Welsh slate bauble, which you can take to the decoration station. Try your hand at letter crafting too, before taking home your very own letter from the Official Desk of Santa. Opt for a yummy bite to eat too from the delicious Cegin-Glo menu, where you will find a few festive favourites.

What better time to tell Santa what you’d like for Christmas than in person! So, get your thinking hats on and make your list a good one and be sure not to miss anything. Santa and his team of elves and reindeer will fly your letter back to the North Pole where they create all of their gifts for the good boys and girls around the world!
Looking for Santa? Follow the twinkling fairy lights up the steps to where he awaits your visit. You will find Santa inside his cosy Grotto where he loves to keep warm and enjoy a scrummy mince pie. Santa will welcome you inside to listen to your Christmas wishes, read your letter, and thank you with a special gift. Santa will also join you for some festive photographs for you to remember your experience.
Not only do you get a gift from the main man himself, but you also get your very own Welsh slate bauble to decorate at our craft station! Get your creative juices flowing and decorate to your heart’s content, ready for centre stage on the tree. A wonderful memento or something to gift over the festive season.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a grotto experience without a little something to take home before the big day. Santa has magical gifts suitable for all ages, you’re more than welcome to open these while you’re with us or save them for Christmas Day.
Grab your coat and bring plenty of festive cheer; on arrival you will be greeted with a delicious complimentary mince pie and hot chocolate (plus a mulled wine for the adults!) in our Cegin Glo Bar and Bistro. Here, there will be plenty of activities for you to get stuck into. Why not start with writing your letter to Santa at our letter writing station; you could even give it to the main man himself!

The Grouch is ready to spread anything but holiday cheer this year! This grump could freeze even the jolliest heart, The Grouch is here to stir up some mischief and mayhem at Tower Grotto. Don’t expect smiles or laughter—he’s more interested in stealing them! But be warned, beneath that grumpy exterior, even The Grouch can’t resist the magic of the season, making for some unforgettable memories at Tower Grotto this festive season.

How to find us
Located near the bustling town of Aberdare and with many bus and train links nearby, you’ll be knocking on Zip World Tower’s door before you know it. We’re located just 40 minutes’ drive from Cardiff, Wales’ capital city.
We recommend using public transport, but you'll have no trouble reaching us regardless of your mode of travel.
