The horde of demonic clowns return to the Zip World Betws-y-Coed once more this October 2024 for the 5th annual Ffear Fforest scare-fest. This sell-out Halloween experience takes place in the secluded woodland, offering the chance to conquer iconic Zip World adventures in the darkness of the night, whilst being chased, tormented and terrorised by the terrifying clowns. Choose the standard Night Pass or elevate your experience with some extreme added extras; either way, you’re not likely to forget your night of frights and adventures any time soon…
Conquer the cursed coaster with nothing but your headlamp to guide you through the winding woodland. Ascend almost a kilometre of coaster track in the dark, and leave the circus noise behind as you’re met with an eerie silence, slowly creeping your way to the top. As you take control of the built-in levers of your cart, will you break the silence and scream or will you zoom down the tracks at 25mph without a peep? Ride the Cursed Coaster twice with each Night Pass, and opt to share your cart with a friend, or brave it alone (shared cart restrictions apply).
Bounce, explore, run, hide… The Nets is a giant bouncy treetop adventure swarmed with terrifying clowns. With multiple vast netted spaces, walkways, treetop huts and slides to explore, there’s plenty of space to explore at your own pace, but don’t stay still for too long, the clowns are never far behind! Hop on and off The Nets at will throughout the evening, access it unlimited with your Night Pass.
What’s scarier than dropping 100ft through trapdoors atop a 100ft tower? Doing it in the dark of course! Nightfall will see your ascending the spiral staircase all the way to the top of the tall tower, where you will be attached to our safety system and take your place on the trapdoors, either braving it alone or sharing the experience with a friend. Your heart will race and your stomach will drop as you plummet a massive 100ft through the trapdoors and experience the ultimate freefall, with nothing but the dimly lit woodland surrounding you.
Brace yourself for the ultimate adrenaline rush – hop aboard one of Europe’s largest swings alongside up to 4 other people and experience a thrill like no other in the deep, dark forest. Take your place on the swing as you’re hoisted 24m in the air, before a brave member of your group pulls the release cord to send you all flying through the night sky.
Escape the clowns by flocking to the treetops and embark on this high ropes course, tackling various obstacles in the spooky lighting and mist. The clowns will lurk below, so don’t look down! Take on zip lines, balance beams, climbing nets and more during this adventure course, which will leave you feeling accomplished and suitably challenged…
The scares start the second you enter the carpark… and don’t think you’re safe just because you’re in your car. Ffear Fforest is an immersive experience from start to finish as you’re chased down, plummeted into darkness, and tested at every turn.
Before booking this adventure, please carefully review the following restrictions to ensure you and your party meet the minimum participation requirements.
Children aged 3–8 yrs must be accompanied on the same sledge by 1 participating adult (or child aged 9+ and over 1m) for every child
Children aged 9 - 17 years must be accompanied by a spectating adult in a ratio of 1 adult to 5 children
Participants must be below 120kg to take part in this adventure
Participants combined weight must be below 150kg to share a sledge
A minimum height of 1m is required for this adventure

Wallace is an angry clown with a point to prove. Loud, bold and brash, he's well-known for getting in your face; or even your car (so lock your doors when you arrive if you don't want a warm welcome from him!). The longest serving clown, Wallace thinks he knows it all and likes to show it.
He might look funny, but don't be fooled, Sid is as spooky as they come. There's a mean streak hidden below those frills and pom poms; Sid will arrive when he wants to, cause carnage, and disappear back into the shadows... a master of stealth, make sure you're always on the lookout, you never know where and when he will pop up next.
King of the clowns, Mr Burns is by far the loudest and most obnoxious clown in all the land. Famed for his unpredictable nature, Mr Burns will one second be posing happily for selfies with you, and will be chasing you manically along the forest the next. Approach with caution and do not let your guard down around this evil ringmaster.
Fits of rage and regular tantrums is what you can expect from this old timer. A familiar face in the Ffear Fforest troupe, Pumpkin has clearly grown tired of the moving circus and will take his dismay out on anyone who dares cross his path.
Ironically named, Chuckles is mean and a bully. No-where (and we mean no-where) is safe from this monster, who will taunt you from the moment you step foot into his Fforest. He adds a skull to his overalls to represent each victim; some of which are in the Ffear Fforest clown gang to this day.
Keep your valuables to hand and your wits about you; Prowell loves collecting momentos. The cheekiest of the gang, he's been known to steal hats off heads, enter cars and buckle in for the ride, even pick his preferred song on your radio. We'd recommend locking your car unless you're ready to welcome an unwanted visitor.
He's bad, he's back. Kai has zero regard for health and safety and can often be seen with his signature chainsaw, which he uses to chase his victims down. Luckily, you'll hear him before you see him, so at least you'll have a warning.
The evil mastermind behind Nightfall, and one half of the Ffred and Ffranc duo, Ffranc dedicates his time to luring innocent explorers to Nightfall on the outskirts of the forest, where it's dark and no one can hear their screams. He loves watching his victims plummet 100ft into the darkness on his twisted adventure.
A force to be reckoned with and brother to Ffranc, Ffred has spent years perfecting the Screamride adventure, and lures unsuspecting guests to fly on his terrifying ride. It's said that his victims go mad, swinging back and forth in the dark.
Don't let that moody face fool you, he loves to play games. Usually found skulking on The Nets, you may even feel sorry for him as he plays alone, but you've fallen right into his trap. Run, as fast as you can, in the opposite direction if he's coming your way.
Wearing a mask to never reveal his true identity, JJ can be found jumping around on The Nets, chasing everyone and anyone in his path; big or small, he doesn't care who you are.
Ever get the feeling you're being watched? Quiet and calculated, Tiny may not jump out of the shadows at you, but she'll be watching for your weaknesses. She's quick on her feet, so watch out if you see her stalking you. Can be found behind trees and dark places.
Joaquin has a big personality and gets a kick out of screams; he will stop at nothing to terrorise you. Don't stay still for too long - whether you're boarding the Cursed Coaster, exploring The Nets or dropping on Nightfall, Joaquin will be always scouting the area for victims.
