Zip World Tower reveals plans for a brand-new adventure, ‘Tower Climber’!


Our latest adventure activity is heading down to South Wales and is the 4th adventure available for both adults and kids to enjoy at the Zip World Tower site - opening 11th July 2022!

What is Tower Climber?

30 meters high and the biggest of its kind in the UK, Tower Climber is a 4 storey, 30m adventure activity with 69 different elements and obstacles to confront. Will you take on the thrilling abseil drop or will you prefer to walk the dreaded plank? With coal mining themed obstacles to intertwine with the historic site, plus various levels of fun challenges, there’s no doubt the Tower Climber will be a truly unique and exciting experience. Suitable for all the family and featuring a dedicated lower level for mini adventurers, test your nerve while you take in the stunning panoramic views.

Where is Zip World Tower?

Rhigos, Hirwaun, Aberdare, CF44 9UF

Zip World Tower is located on the former spot of the iconic Tower Colliery coal mine and is the first Zip World site to be situated in South Wales. Up until its closure in 2008, the Tower Colliery site was the oldest consistently working deep-coal mine in the UK and was the last of its kind to remain in the South Wales Valleys. Nestled in the breath-taking Rhigos mountain range and currently home to the world's fastest seated zip line, Phoenix, the mini zip line Tower Flyer and the two-seated roller coaster, Tower Coaster, Zip World Tower is the ideal family day out in South Wales.

Bringing a fresh new lease of life to this historic site, enjoy the brilliant facilities and refreshments at the Tower’s Adventure Terminal, where you can check in, kit up, grab a bite to eat at Cegin Glo Bar and Bistro and enjoy the charmingly restored Colliery site.

Are there any restrictions?

Yes, children must be over the age of 3 and under 8’s will need an accompanying adult to give them a helping hand around the course.

How much are the tickets?

Tickets are only £20 for children aged 15 and under and £25 for anyone over 15 years of age. Family tickets are also available.

When can I buy tickets?

Ticket sales are due to go live on the 20th of May and will be available to book on our website or over the phone on 01248 601 444. The Tower Climber will be open on the 11th of July.
