The best family days out this February Half Term
February half term is here, and we have lined up the best Zip World adventures for everyone in your family. Our adventures offer plenty of options for multiple ages, across multiple UK locations! From North Wales to Manchester and introducing our newest site in London, book today before you miss out!
North Wales
We have three Zip World sites across North Wales: Betws-y-Coed, Llechwedd and Penrhyn Quarry. All our sites are drivable to one another, with the furthest being a 50-minute drive, so you can try even more of our adventures by going to multiple sites. A firm favourite with families of all ages, Zip World Betws-y-Coed is our forest-based adventure park located in a Welsh woodland. Take on our treetop adventures such as Zip Safari and Tree Hoppers, the perfect family experience that sees you spend quality family time together, or speed down our alpine coaster track with Fforest Coaster. This is the Britain’s only alpine coaster of its kind, so not an adventure to be missed.
Zip World Llechwedd is our rugged underground site that gives you the option of enjoying weather-proof adventures. The perfect family day out on a rainy day, Zip World Llechwedd is a great option for older children in the family. Set underground in an old mining cave, you will be immersed in the past as you take on our adventures. Why not try an adventure golf experience like no other with Underground Golf or blow off some steam bouncing on suspended nets with Bounce Below. Test your nerve with the world’s first 4-seater zip line, Titan - this will see you and your family set off at the same time and soar over the quarry together.
Zip World Penrhyn Quarry is home to the one and only Velocity, the world’s fastest zip line! If you are looking for an unforgettable memory this half term, then look no further than visiting our Penrhyn Quarry site. Be the envy of your classmates when you go back to school and tell them you have taken on the world’s fastest zip line with your family! Penrhyn Quarry also hosts many other heart-pumping adventures including Aero Explorer, a zip-coaster hybrid and Quarry Karts. Quarry Karts is a great one for the teenagers aged 15+ in the family and will have you rolling down a mountain track, manoeuvring around corners and through tunnels.
South Wales
Just outside Aberdare, South Wales is home to our Zip World Tower site. A great place to spend the whole day with the family as they take on sky-high adventures or speed around coaster tracks. We have zip lines for all ages at Zip World Tower with Phoenix, the world’s fastest seated zip line and Tower Flyer, our mini-zip experience. Located at a former coal mine, the site has been regenerated to a family-friendly adventure park. Jump aboard Tower Coaster which will send you racing around a rollercoaster track with a family member or test your agility on our giant climbing frame, Tower Climber.
London
Zip World London is our newest site based in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. The site based at the ArcelorMittal Orbit is a perfect family day out and a great way to spend your time this half term. Bring the family along to enjoy panoramic views of the iconic London skyline. Located 80m in the air, ArcelorMittal Orbit 360 is a viewing platform based at the top of the sculpture and offers views of famous London landmarks such as the O2, the financial district and The Shard. You can use the lift or take the 431 stairs to the top but why not take our other adventure Helix back down. Helix is the world’s longest and tallest tunnel slide spanning 178m in length. Gather speeds of up to 15 mph as you fly through the tube and catch glimpses of the outside through windows in the slide. Hear the giggles and screams as the kids spiral their way to the bottom, with yourself not far behind them.
Manchester
The ultimate treetop adventure site, Zip World Manchester is your retreat to nature outside of the bustling city. Like our Betws-y-Coed site, Zip World Manchester hosts an array of adventures suspended in the trees of Heaton Park. The site includes high rope courses for everyone including the little ones in the family with our Mini Trek course. This is a smaller version of the Full Trek course we offer to let the younger ones participate. Zip World Manchester also hosts bouncy Treetop Nets to enjoy and run around as a whole family. Explore multiple bounce zones, zoom down slides and cross netted bridges.
Windermere
Zip World Windermere offers the chance to embark on a day of adventure alongside the iconic Lake Windermere in the Lake District National Park. Located at the Brockhole Visitor Centre, Zip World Windermere allows you to spend the day as a family pushing boundaries and exploring new adventures with each other. Our Full Trek is an adventure course that is hidden amongst the treetops of Brockhole and offers the chance to lose a few hours in nature. Tackle the 32 elements of the course and then take a leap of faith as you zip line down to the edge of Lake Windermere to finish your adventure.
