Christmas 2023 just got better, Zipmas is back!

Santa’s sleigh bells can be heard getting closer to Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales… Join us this Christmas as you embark on a truly magical underground adventure. Set deep in an old Victorian mine, Zipmas is a Santa’s Grotto experience like you’ve never seen before. Taking you on a journey of fun and festivity, with the added extra of Grotto Golf, it’s the ideal way to spend an evening with friends and family this December!

WHAT TO EXPECT…

SEASONAL TREATS AND THE TRAIN UNDERGROUND…

Your evening will commence with some seasonal treats as you enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate or mulled wine, before washing it down with a sweet mince pie. Santa’s Elves will then grab you a helmet as you hop on Europe's steepest cable railway and head deep underground. With space for 6 per carriage, it’ll take around 90 seconds to reach the wintery wonderland that awaits below. Watch the twinkling fairy lights light up the tunnel as you descend towards the platform, where you’ll be greeted by Santa’s friendly Elves, who are always up for a chat or an elf-ie!

3 SEPARATE CHAMBERS TO EXPLORE

Now it’s time to grab onto your lantern, before exploring 3 unique chambers. The first is the extraordinary light maze, bursting with bright lights and impressive illuminations that light up the dark. The Elves will then lead you into Santa’s workshop, where you’ll get a sneak peek of how your presents are made, before heading into the main chamber to meet the man himself. Complete with a wood burner and throne, the Grotto is a cosy den where you can meet the man himself and receive a special gift.

GROTTO GOLF

Add an extra sprinkling of excitement to your evening by heading over to the world’s first adventure golf in a cave, as part of our popular Grotto Golf package. If Christmas brings out the competitiveness in your family, then Underground Golf is the ideal way to end your evening with a bang. Embark on 18 slate mining-themed holes as you explore this impressive multi-level mini golf course.

TIME TO GET CREATIVE

Once you’ve soaked up the festive atmosphere and taken plenty of pictures underground, head back up to the surface to put your creativity to good use at our slate bauble crafting station. Decorate to your heart’s content before bringing it home to take centre stage on your Christmas tree!
