Activity days for the elderly

Whilst the elderly may not be who you first think of for adrenaline filled activities, there is in fact plenty for them to enjoy and take part in on family days out.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO AT ZIP WORLD?

With four main locations around the home of adventure, Wales, each individual Zip World site offers plenty of activities, delicious locally sourced food and lots of opportunities to explore and soak up the breathtaking activities. We also offer a wide range of stunning accommodation options if you’re looking to turn your trip into a little family holiday.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE TO KEEP THE ELDERLY ENTERTAINED?

Alongside the thrilling and stimulating activities available at Zip World, there’s also a couple of more mellow activities perfectly suited for those that are a little more elderly and may not want to participate in something like the Skyride for example.

At our Penrhyn location, we offer the Penrhyn Quarry Tour where you can learn all about the history of this iconic location and embark on one of our red ex-army trucks to a trip up to the top of the quarry at 1,500 feet above sea level. From there you’ll be able to take in stunning views of the Ogwen Valley, Menai Strait and Snowdonia National park. Don’t forget to enjoy tea and cake at our Blondin Restaurant once you’re done with your touch, which will be on hand serving locally sourced food and drink.

Similarly, at our Slate Caverns location we offer a Deep Mine Tour where you’ll take a step back into the 19th century as you’re submerged 500ft into the rich history of the Deep Mine tour, where you can spend an hour and fifteen minutes soaking up everything there is to know about Llechwedd’s fascinating past. In addition, our Titan 2 adventure contains an extensive above-ground tour of the incredible man-made landscape of this site, before a series of two seated zip lines bring you back down. Our seated zip lines still offer an exhilarating experience, but are a bit less white knuckle than the likes of Velocity.

Alongside the tours and the opportunity to explore the beautiful sights all around, there’s amazing places to eat at if you want to enjoy some scrumptious, locally sourced food. Most of our sites are also great for spectators to watch - so if people don't fancy taking part in an adventure, they're more than welcome to enjoy our a tea or coffee while watching or waiting for the rest of the family. Activity days for elderly can be just as fun as for anyone else here at Zip World.
